If you’re looking for a nice summation of the various issues involved in the “gender inequality in publishing” debate, this discussion among five women writers is a great place to start. It was published by Brooklyn Based on Friday, Nov. 15, so it’s the most timely piece on the subject. The participants are  Julia Fierro, Roxane Gay, Lydia Millet, Adelle Waldman, and Ayelet Waldman (no relation to Adelle).

According to its website, “Brooklyn Based began as an email newsletter that made it easy for subscribers to keep track of the events, people and places that were part of Brooklyn’s rise as the most awesome place on earth.”
